Peer Review Process

Publication of articles in the Dinasti Accounting Review (DAR) is solely dependent on scientific validity and coherence as assessed by our editors and/or peer reviewers, who will also assess whether the writing is understandable and whether the work is a useful contribution to that field. DAR acknowledges the efforts and suggestions made by its reviewers.

Preliminary Evaluation of Manuscripts

The editor will first evaluate all submitted manuscripts. While rare, it is worthy of receiving an outstanding manuscript at this stage. Those rejected at this stage are not sufficiently original, have serious scientific flaws, or fall outside the aims and scope of DAR. Those that meet the minimum requirements are submitted to the reviewer team for review.

Types of Peer Reviews

Submitted manuscripts will generally be reviewed by two to three experts who will be asked to evaluate whether the manuscript is scientific and reasonable, whether the manuscript is a duplicate of an already published work, and whether the manuscript is clear enough to be published. The method is blind peer review.

Review Reports

Reviewers are asked to evaluate the following:

  • Validity,
  • Mistakes (terms and procedures),
  • Experimental design,
  • The methodology used by the reported study,
  • Significance and importance of findings,
  • Originality and implicit in the field,
  • Missing or inaccurate references,
  • Have results/findings that are presented clearly and support conclusions, and
  • Follow appropriate ethical guidelines.

Reviewers are not expected to correct or copy manuscripts. Language correction is not part of the peer review process.

Decision

The reviewer advises the editor, responsible for the final decision to accept or reject the article. Editors will reach decisions based on this report and, if necessary, they will consult with members of the Editorial Board. The editor's decision is final.
