Signaling Theory Dalam Konteks Pasar Kerja dan Bisnis di Indonesia

Signaling theory merupakan suatu konsep yang diperkenalkan oleh Michael Spence 1973 dan dijadikan rujukan oleh Connelly tahun 2022 dalam buku Market Signaling and Corporate Strategy yang mefokuskan pada penerapan teori sinyal Spence dalam strategi perusahaan dan investasi. Dalam buku ini menjelaskan bagaimana pihak perusahaan dengan informasi lebih (insider) mengirimkan sinyal kepada pihak dengan informasi lebih sedikit (outsider) untuk mengurangi asimetri informasi. Dalam konteks pasar kerja dan bisnis di Indonesia yang semakin kompetitif, teori ini relevan untuk memahami strategi komunikasi, rekrutmen, branding, hingga pengambilan keputusan investasi. Dengan demikian tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis relevansi dan efektivitas penerapan signaling theory dalam mengurangi asimetri informasi pada pasar kerja dan praktik bisnis di Indonesia. Artikel ini membahas definisi, alur dasar, aplikasi, serta kritik terhadap teori signaling, dengan menekankan relevansinya bagi perusahaan di Indonesia. Implikasi utama penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan signaling theory dapat memperkuat transparansi dan kepercayaan antara pencari kerja, perusahaan, serta pelaku bisnis di Indonesia, sekaligus menyoroti perlunya mekanisme verifikasi sinyal agar tidak menimbulkan manipulasi informasi dan tetap relevan dengan kondisi pasar lokal.
