Evaluasi Aktivitas Antibakteri dan Stabilitas Fisik Emulgel Ekstrak Etanol Daun Rambutan (Nephelium lappaceum L.) terhadap Escherichia coli

Daun rambutan (Nephelium lappaceum L.) diketahui memiliki potensi sebagai bahan obat tradisional karena mengandung senyawa yang berkhasiat sebagai antibakteri. Penggunaan ekstrak daun rambutan secara langsung pada kulit dinilai kurang praktis dan kurang nyaman, sehingga dibuat dalam bentuk sediaan emulgel. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi sifat fisik serta aktivitas antibakteri emulgel ekstrak etanol daun rambutan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental. Sampel berupa serbuk daun rambutan diekstraksi menggunakan metode maserasi dengan pelarut etanol 96%. Ekstrak kental yang diperoleh kemudian diformulasikan menjadi sediaan emulgel dan dilakukan pengujian sifat fisik meliputi organoleptis, daya sebar, daya lekat, dan pH. Pengujian aktivitas antibakteri terhadap Escherichia coli dilakukan menggunakan metode sumuran. Aktivitas antibakteri ditandai dengan terbentuknya zona hambat pada sediaan emulgel dengan konsentrasi 5%, 10%, dan 15%. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan secara deskriptif. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa emulgel ekstrak etanol daun rambutan memiliki karakteristik organoleptis, daya lekat, dan pH yang baik, serta memiliki daya sebar yang memenuhi standar. Hasil uji antibakteri menunjukkan bahwa emulgel ekstrak etanol daun rambutan memiliki kemampuan menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Escherichia coli pada konsentrasi 5%, 10%, dan 15%, dengan rata-rata diameter zona hambat berturut-turut sebesar 24 mm, 26 mm, dan 28 mm. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa emulgel ekstrak etanol daun rambutan memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap Escherichia coli.
